How to adopt a Mo's kitten?
We would like to welcome you to this chapter of our site, as this might well be a very telling and nice indication that you are contemplating to acquire a new loving member for your family! We are very happy that you would place your trust in us to accommodate that wish.
First and foremost we would like to emphasize that we have started our cattery out of love for the Maine Coon, and will only occasionally have a litter. In our heart and mind we find the upbringing of a kitten should be surrounded with love and care, and should never take place as a means to generate income. The true fact is that raising a litter, or a kitten for that matter, will take an investment in time, money, dedication, patience, facilitating their needs and most importantly love. These points are important pillars on which we would like to base our selection of new parents to our furry kids. As the new parent you are expected to fully grasp the consequences of adopting a living, and loving creature. Kittens are not to be regarded as a commodity, or fashion statement that can fall out of grace. You as the new parent must cherish the commitment to care and love your new family member and treat it as such.
It would therefore be nice and very much welcomed, if you really are serious in acquiring one of our kittens, to introduce yourself and your wish regarding the kitten's gender, color and purpose (pet or breeding). To give us an insight as to what the living conditions will be for the young kitten. Will it have a playmate, being canine, feline or human. Will it have the possibility to go outside, and if so, will that be in an enclosed garden or balcony. Inquiries that begin with the question “How much does a kitten cost?”, will not be treated as a likely candidate for an adoption, as this should be the furthest from your mind when choosing to adopt a kitten.
What will we offer if you do choose to commit yourself to adopting one of our kittens?
When all requirements and expectations are met to full satisfaction, from both you as a new Mo's kitten parent, and us as guardians, a couple of final steps will separate you from obtaining a wonderful and loving kitten.
Once you have reserved a kitten and are eagerly awaiting its arrival to your household, please bear in mind that a kitten will only be eligible for transfer after 13 weeks within the Netherlands and 16 weeks if transferred abroad. This might seem a long time, but those weeks are the most important in the socialization process of a young kitten. Please also understand that we will only transfer a kitten if it’s 100% healthy. Due to vaccinations or a light cold it might be possible that the kitten is not feeling to well, if so, the transfer will unfortunately have to take place at a later date.
A personal visit to our cattery is very much welcomed in the period that you have to wait for your reserved kitten, but only after 6 weeks. This to not expose young and vulnerable kittens to too much arial and transmissible germs or viruses.
We hope that you have been provided with enough information on this page, but if you have questions, please feel free to contact us via our email mentioned under the contact tab.

What will we offer if you do choose to commit yourself to adopting one of our kittens?
- A well socialized kitten that has had its upbringing in a home environment, living with other Maine Coons, and used to the daily routines in a household (vacuum cleaning, music, TV, and most importantly, humans).
- The kitten will be chipped, dewormed and vaccinated.
- European passport and pedigree.
- If desired, photos of the kitten whilst it was in our care.
- When reserved, a weekly to biweekly update on its health and development.
- Support regarding questions and eventual issues prior to, and after adoption.
When all requirements and expectations are met to full satisfaction, from both you as a new Mo's kitten parent, and us as guardians, a couple of final steps will separate you from obtaining a wonderful and loving kitten.
- Place an option for the desired kitten, and the desired kitten will be blocked for 48 hours from other interested new parents.
- When after some thought your decision is to go through with the adoption and you have confirmed this with us, a reservation will be placed on that desired kitten when a required reservation fee has been fulfilled. A reserved kitten will not become available for others.
